• Conception and Birth
  • One day in September 1870, while the Sacred Mother was visiting her parents’ home, she fell into a deep sleep following an af-ternoon rain.
  • She dreamed the sky split into north and south and a huge ball of light descended from it and covered her body. The whole world became bright. Later, she conceived Jeung-san Sahng-jeh-nim, and after thirteen months of pregnancy, she gave birth. At the time of His birth, the Sacred Mother was twenty-two years old.
  • While she was in labor, her husband, the Sacred Father, fell asleep and his spiritual eye opened. He saw two female immortals descend from heaven to care for his wife. That night, a son was delivered.
  • The female immortals tended to the Sacred Mother and the baby Sahng-jeh-nim. For seven days, an unusual fragrance filled the entire house, which was surrounded by auspicious light shining brightly up to heaven.
  • At birth, Sahng-jeh-nim’s cry rang out like a bell.
