• Straying from Sahng-jeh-nim’s Shadow
  • On June 21, Shin Wun-il and Ee Chee-bohk brought to Sahng-jeh-nim some money that Chae Sa-yoon and his brother-in-law had offered.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim had Hyung-yul put the money in a chest and had Wun-il write down the names of those who had made the offering and then burn the writing.
  • He later told Hyung-yul to keep forty won in the chest;
  • the rest was to be used to buy food.
  • That night, Sahng-jeh-nim said to the disciples, “I will leave this place. To continue the work here would be burdensome.
  • Know that, between the time I leave and come back, the events that happen in the West are My doing.
  • If I continue My work in the other place, it will be limitless.”
  • He summoned Ja-hyun and asked him, “Do you believe in Me?”
  • “If I lacked faith,” Ja-hyun replied, “I would have betrayed You following the incident in Go-bu.”
  • 10 “You are right. I am going away to another place to do My work. Keep your faith until I return.
  • 11 If you stray from My shadow, you will die.”
  • 12 “I sincerely wish to accompany You,” Ja-hyun pleaded. “Please allow me to.”
  • 13 “Ja-hyun, it is not a place for you to go.”
