- Sahng-jeh-nim Is Seen After His Ascension
- 1 The disciples had believed that, like the sun and moon, Sahng-jeh-nim would always endure. Shocked by His unexpected death, they carried out the funeral in a stupor and returned home grief-stricken.
- 2 Some of the disciples left for Wun-pyung Village, and on the way, they met some villagers returning to Gu-rit-gohl Village.
- 3 When the disciples told them that Sahng-jeh-nim had passed away, the villagers said, “What do you mean? Just now, on our way from Wun-pyung Village, we saw your Teacher at an inn having a drink.”
- 4 The disciples thought this strange. One of them secretly went back to Sahng-jeh-nim’s coffin, opened it, and found that it was empty.
- 5 One disciple went to Jeonju County and there said to a friend, “My Teacher has passed away.”
- 6 The friend said, “I just saw your Teacher having a drink on Yohng-muh-ree Hill.”
- 7 For a few years, many people who had known Sahng-jeh-nim reported seeing Him after His death. One of them even served Him rice wine at an inn in Sahl-po-jung-ee Village.
