- Tae-mo-nim Heals a New Initiate
- 1 On May 15, 1933, the wife of Ju Wun-il from Yung-deung Village took a new female initiate with her to pay respects to Tae-mo-nim.
- 2 Upon seeing the new follower, Tae-mo-nim seemed surprised.
- 3 “Don’t have a fit! Go home this instant!” Tae-mo-nim said and kept her from entering. Tae-mo-nim ordered Wun-il’s wife to take the woman away.
- 4 Everyone was puzzled, unable to understand why Tae-mo-nim had done this, but later they found out the woman had epilepsy.
- 5 The woman returned home, bearing deep resentment, but afterward her epilepsy was cured, and she finally realized what had taken place. Accompanied by the woman who first brought her to Tae-mo-nim, she came back bearing gifts.
- 6 Tae-mo-nim greeted her warmly and asked, “Are you now free of sickness?”
