• Go Min-hwahn Resolves to Rebuild the Organization
  • The people at the center in Yohng-hwa Village increasingly spoke rudely to Tae-mo-nim and committed unjust acts.
  • Those who had come with Her from Jo-johng Village left one by one, and eventually none of them remained.
  • Go Min-hwahn lamented, “What a tragedy! Not understanding our Mother’s relationship with the spirit world, these followers just hold on to empty formalities.
  • Though the task of dao, the work of saving life, is placed before them, they act rashly as if it were a game. How can someone with the task of saving humanity have this attitude?”
  • He thought to himself that, to revive the movement, he should gather those who left after the center in Yohng-hwa Village was formed.
  • Unable to suppress his indignation, he left the center and returned to his hometown.
  • He then visited all of the followers who had left and asked them to join him in rebuilding the organization.
  • Meanwhile, he designated Moon Yung-hee’s house in Ohk-gu County as a temporary center and quickly began to organize people.
  • That was when he decided to build a dojang on Oh-sung Mountain in Im-pee County.
  • 10 The construction began in the autumn of 1932, but funds ran out before its completion. At some point during the following year, when Moon Myung-su and Ee Joong-jin went to Yohng-hwa Village to inquire of Tae-mo-nim about Her well-being,
  • 11 She said, “I will move to Oh-sung Mountain by the Winter Solstice. We will hold the chee-sung there.
  • 12 Hurry and complete the construction of the dojang.”
  • 13 They relayed Her message, but no one knew how to get the funds needed to proceed. Finally, a disciple named Ee Jin-mook provided the money by selling his house. They resumed construction, but with the Winter Solstice fast approaching, they could not complete it on time.
  • 14 They did manage to build one room in which Tae-mo-nim could stay.
  • 15 On the day before the Winter Solstice, Tae-mo-nim arrived, accompanied by Gim Su-eung, Jo Hahk-gu, and Ee Yohng-ghee.
  • 16 The construction of the dojang would be completed in the following year, 1934.
