- Prevented from Speaking Freely
- 1 During her meditation, Ho-yun, by simply listening to a magpie caw, could tell who was coming and from where.
- 2 Later, if Ho-yun entered the room when Sahng-jeh-nim was talking with the disciples, He would say, “Do not say anything in front of her.”
- 3 Worried about her future, Sahng-jeh-nim sometimes said, “Should I make her an idiot?
- 4 If I do not do anything, she will tell everyone what she has seen and heard. That would be the end of her life. Should I make her mute? What should I do?”
- 5 To Hyung-yul, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “After we die, if she comes forward of her own accord and speaks to just anybody, she will be killed. What should I do with her? I will make her unable to speak freely.”
- 6 For a great many years, Ho-yun spoke to no one about what she had seen and heard.
