- When People Pass by Sahng-jeh-nim
- 8 One day, when Sahng-jeh-nim was traveling, a Japanese policeman mounted on horse passed before Him, but suddenly both the rider and the horse fell headfirst to the ground.
- 9 In this way, the spirits governing roads, who guarded Sahng-jeh-nim, punished the rider for his disrespect.
- 10 When someone who knew Sahng-jeh-nim saw Him on the road, even from a distance, they immediately bent from their waist in a bow.
- 11 If someone did not do this, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “That heel passes by, pretending that he has not noticed someone he knows.”
- 12 Sahng-jeh-nim rebuked such people to protect them from inevitable punishment by the spirits who escorted Sahng-jeh-nim.
