• A Guide to Becoming a Leader
  • Arriving in Haeng-dahn Village of Tae-in County, Sahng-jeh-nim said to Cha Gyung-suk,
  • “Just as Confucius taught in a place called Apricot Altar, I will share a verse with you here.” He then recited:
  • 夫主將之法 務攬英雄之心
    賞祿有功 通志于衆
  • To be a leader:
  • strive to win over the minds of heroes;
  • reward and bless those who have merit;
  • have one will with those around you.
  • 故 與衆同好靡不成 與衆同惡靡不傾
  • If you imbue people with a common desire for something,
    it will certainly be achieved.
  • If you imbue people with a common disdain for something,
    it will certainly be cast down.
  • 治國安家得人也 亡國破家失人也
    含氣之類 咸願得其志
  • Governing a nation and having a peaceful home
    depend on whether the people join you.
  • 10 The downfall of a nation or a household
    depends on whether the people leave you.
  • 11 All living beings desire to achieve that aspiration.
  • 12 Sahng-jeh-nim then said, “This is a great guide to becoming a leader.”
