• Sahng-jeh-nim’s Compassion for the Unfortunate
  • Sahng-jeh-nim was very devoted to the poor and the sick and never hesitated to help them.
  • When a destitute person came to Him, He would see to it that the person found a way to make a living. When He came across a beggar, He would call the beggar over and wash that person’s hair and face.
  • He often said, “We should live together as equals without delay. Each and every person ought to live well, and yet there is such suffering.”
  • If He saw someone lying in the street, He would say, “How pitiful. It is for you that I am bringing forth a wonderful world.”
  • Seeing starving people fall to the ground, He would say, “I would feed you My own intestines if it would help.”
  • Seeing poor people pass by, He would say, “I will fill your stomachs, and you will all live in prosperity.”
