- Myung-bu and Its Messengers
- 1 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim and some of His disciples came to the Myung-bu Shrine of Dae-wun Temple, and Sahng-jeh-nim said,
- 2 “You should know of Myung-bu. Women say a person’s life or death depends upon the Shrine of Ten Kings.
- 3 Respect Myung-bu. Its court gives the order to take someone away, but its messengers have some authority in making the final decision.
- 4 They sometimes return without taking the person if respect for Myung-bu has been shown and they feel compassion upon hearing of the dying person’s circumstances.
- 5 When the messengers return and report their decision, the court does not change it.”
- 6 On another occasion, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Death has its time.
- 7 Following My order, Myung-bu sends messengers to bring a person before its court.
- 8 Some people, in accordance with their past deeds, are dragged in and struck on the back of their necks with a club. Some are escorted in on sedan chairs.”
- Your Ancestors in Heaven
- 9 “All the generations of your ancestors exist in heaven. After death, a person continues to study as a spirit.”
