• Upon Meeting an Unjust Person
  • When a just person came to see Him, Sahng-jeh-nim would sit with the back of His hands facing up. Of someone unjust, He would say, “That scoundrel has an unrighteous mind.” At those times, He would turn His hands over, showing His palms.
  • When Sahng-jeh-nim’s palms faced upward, the visitor’s limbs would tremble.
  • Gim Jung-bin’s Skepticism
  • Gim Jung-bin, one of Hyung-yul’s relatives residing in Gu-rit-gohl Village, did not believe anything Sahng-jeh-nim said and mocked the disciples for assisting in the work of renewal.
  • One winter day, Sahng-jeh-nim said to him, “There is a house on Yohng-muh-ree Hill. You must go there. Something there needs to be attended to.”
  • 10 “Is that so?” Jung-bin said sarcastically. “What lie are You telling me now?”
  • 11 “It is true,” Sahng-jeh-nim calmly replied. “Why else would I send you out in this cold weather? You really have to go there.”
  • 12 “Then, I guess I’ll go.” Jung-bin left for Yohng-muh-ree Hill. From a distance, he saw something enormous blocking the road. It appeared to be moving. When he got closer, he realized it was a coiled snake as big as a house.
  • 13 Scared almost to death, he turned and ran back to the village.
There, Sahng-jeh-nim laughed at him. “Oh, are you back already?”
