• Cha Gyung-suk and the Program of a General
  • In October, Sahng-jeh-nim told Gyung-suk to prepare thirty nyahng.
  • “Gyung-suk, I am assigning a work to you. Today, we will go to Soon-chahng County.”
  • Sahng-jeh-nim took him to Bahk Jahng-geun’s house in Nohng-ba-ooh Village and had him sit upright in a specific place in the room.
  • He then said to Gyung-suk, “I now change the course of world affairs, using the terrestrial energy of an auspicious site on Hwey-moon Mountain named Five Immortals Playing Ba-dook. I endow you with some of its qi.”
  • Sahng-jeh-nim said to Jahng-geun, “Call your farmhand and ask him if he saw anything in his dreams last night.”
  • 10 The farmhand said, “In a dream, an immortal descended from heaven to open the Rock Chest and out of it took a long sword and a suit of armor. The sword looked sharp and brilliant, and the suit of armor shimmered brightly.
  • 11 The immortal handed me the sword and armor, telling me, ‘Give them to the general who has been ordered to come here.’ I laid them on the spot where Cha Gyung-suk is now sitting.”
  • 12 “Your dream was true,” Sahng-jeh-nim said. “The legend concerning Rock Chest is not a fantasy.”
  • 13 In that area, there was a legend that a rock formation resembling a chest contained a suit of armor, a helmet, and a sword that would someday be recovered by a great general.
