- Going to Jeonju for Ho-yun
- 1 Before the medicine room was opened, Ho-yun lived in Jeonju County. Sahng-jeh-nim would often go there to bring her to Gu-rit-gohl Village.
- 2 When He came to get Ho-yun, He would call out to her while walking along the road leading into the village.
- 3 Sometimes, instead of answering, she would raise her hand high in the air. Sahng-jeh-nim would chastise her, “Are you the seed of a Japanese?”
- Ho-yun Disguised as a Boy
- 7 When Sahng-jeh-nim traveled with Ho-yun, He disguised her as a boy.
- 8 At first, only Hyung-yul’s family members and a few others knew the truth. Everyone else, including the disciples, thought she was a boy.
- Sahng-jeh-nim Welcomes the Disciples
- 9 Whenever disciples came to see Sahng-jeh-nim, He would take them by the hand and welcome them. “Come in.”
- Giving Clothes to Beggars
- 13 When beggars and lepers came to the village, Sahng-jeh-nim always gave them something to eat and some clothes.
- 14 Though they sometimes vandalized or stole the property of others, they never touched Hyung-yul’s. Everyone attributed this to Sahng-jeh-nim’s presence.
