• A Work of Renewal with Job’s-Tears
  • While staying with Chey Sahng-moon in Jeonju, Sahng-jeh-nim heard that there was an abundant harvest of Job’s-tears in Gu-ryeh County. Taking Hyung-yul and Ho-yun with Him, Sahng-jeh-nim went there to get some.
  • During the three days they stayed in Gu-ryeh, villagers gave them several bags of the grain.
  • The villagers even offered to carry the bags, but Sahng-jeh-nim declined. “I will send someone to get them. Just leave them here in a pile.” When they arrived in Gu-rit-gohl Village, the bags were already there.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim said to Hyung-yul, “Count every grain.”
“It is more than one bag. How can I count the grains in all of these bags?”
  • “Count your living numbers,” said Sahng-jeh-nim. “When the numbers run out, the world is ready.”
  • Inside the house, Hyung-yul sat with one small and one large wooden bowl in front of him and counted the grains, stringing them together like beads. When he finished, the strings filled six bags and there were some loose grains left over.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim then said, “Write down the names of the villages and the name of each person who took part in harvesting and offering the grain.
  • Do not forget. Do not forget those people. Do not forget their villages.”
  • A Display of Creative Change in Mu-ju
  • Sahng-jeh-nim went to Mu-ju County. There, in a work of renewal, He brought a bowl of water into a room where some people were seated.
  • 10 Suddenly, the bowl of water turned into a river; the people looked like they were in rolling water.
  • 11 They saw Ho-yun’s eyes become as big as rice paddies.
  • A Work of Renewal in Pyongyang
  • 12 Sahng-jeh-nim then went from Mu-ju County to Pyongyang so quickly that it looked as if He were flying.
  • 13 He walked on air as only Sahng-jeh-nim could.
  • 14 Engaged in His work, He stayed in Pyongyang for a long time.
  • 15 He threw a paper airplane, twisted paper strips into a bicycle, floated a paper ship on the water, and made various animals out of paper.
  • 16 He had someone bring Him water, and after burning the things He had made, He put the ashes in it.
