• The End of Sahng-jeh-nim’s Marriage
  • In 1904, the Sacred Father decided Sahng-jeh-nim should divorce His wife. Hwahng Eung-johng came from Go-bu County to Gu-rit-gohl Village to inform Sahng-jeh-nim.
  • His wife constantly treated His parents with disrespect, creating discord within the family.
  • Eung-johng reported the situation in the presence of other disciples, and Sahng-jeh-nim looked gloomy as He listened. He said, “Go stay at Hyung-yul’s house for the night and leave tomorrow.”
  • Then, Sahng-jeh-nim announced to Gim Hyung-yul, Gim Ja-hyun, Gim Bo-gyung, Hahn Gohng-sook, and other disciples, “I follow My parents’ decisions in family affairs. Bear witness to this.”
  • To Hyung-yul, He said, “As of now, I have no ties with My wife. Go to My home in Go-bu and announce that I am leaving her.” Hyung-yul agreed, but did not go.
