• Often Going Without Food
  • After starting the work of renewal in 1901, Sahng-jeh-nim suffered much and often went without food.
  • When traveling with Ho-yun in spring, He picked cogon grass and peeled it for her. In summer and autumn, He often picked fruit and nuts along the way, but Ho-yun would not eat them;
  • so, sometimes when they did get cooked meals, Sahng-jeh-nim washed His hands and made rice balls that He kept and later gave Ho-yun as they traveled.
