- Reversing the Destiny of the East
- 1 Near the entrance of Gu-rit-gohl Village, where three roads intersected, there was an inn, and near the inn was a reservoir.
- 2 On the reservoir’s dike, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “The East is about to be overwhelmed by the West. I must hold on to the East.”
- 3 Letting out a thunderous roar, He grabbed hold of the ground with both hands and struggled mightily. Soon, He was bathed in sweat, and suddenly He fainted.
- 4 Hyung-yul and Ja-hyun would not dare touch Sahng-jeh-nim’s sacred body; but Ja-hyun’s little boy, Tae-joon, held Him and wept.
- 5 A moment later, Sahng-jeh-nim revived and said, “Using a lever, you must lift the wrestler in the ultimate contest from both sides.”
- 6 Unable to find a lever, Hyung-yul and Ja-hyun decided to use their arms as levers.
- 7 “Lift!” they yelled loudly and pulled Sahng-jeh-nim to His feet.
- 8 Sahng-jeh-nim then highly praised the young child, Tae-joon.
- 9 On another occasion, when Sahng-jeh-nim was lying under a shady tree in Gu-rit-gohl Village, He suddenly rose and pulled at the air, saying,
- 10 “Hurry and pull. The East is being swept toward the West.” He then said, “By doing this, I have pulled it back.”
