• Organizing Teams of Six to carry out ui―tohng
  • One day, Sahng-jeh-nim said to Bahk Gohng-ooh, “In your mind, select a team of six.” Gohng-ooh began thinking of six candidates.
  • When he thought of one person in particular, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Impossible.” And so, Gohng-ooh thought of another.
  • That evening, Sahng-jeh-nim summoned the six people Gohng-ooh had chosen and, late at night, had them extinguish the oil lamp and walk around the room chanting the Shee-chun-ju Mantra.
  • Suddenly, one of the men collapsed. Alarmed, the others stopped chanting. Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Do not be alarmed. Continue chanting.”
  • They chanted for about as long as it takes to eat a meal. When they stopped and lit the lamp, they saw that Sohn Byung-ook had fallen dead.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim explained, “This happened because his body was impure. I attached the qi of Sohn Byung-hee to him, but he could not endure it.”
  • Sahng-jeh-nim took a mouthful of water and sprayed it in Byung-ook’s face, and Byung-ook just barely regained consciousness. Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Call out to Me.”
  • Byung-ook managed to call out to Sahng-jeh-nim and was soon revitalized.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Great energy lies in the Shee-chun-ju Mantra.”
  • 10 He continued, “Had I left you as you were, it would have been like leaving you in a field to be trampled by cattle and horses.
  • 11 In the future, a mysterious disease will break out and overtake the entire world. At that time of urgency, when people die before they have a chance to turn around, anyone can survive by calling out to Me.”
  • 12 The person Sahng-jeh-nim had rejected from Gohng-ooh’s intended team of six died a few days later.
