- Sahng-jeh-nim Holds Ho-yun’s Hand
- 1 Stroking Ho-yun’s hand, Sahng-jeh-nim said, “Dear child, I have done you much wrong.”
- 2 “What wrong did You do?” Ho-yun asked, perplexed. “Did You eat something without me?” Sahng-jeh-nim and the disciples by His side laughed loudly.
- 3 Ho-yun pouted and said, “Why did You call me here?”
- 4 Sahng-jeh-nim sighed deeply. “Though I must go, I cannot forget you. That’s why I called for you.”
- 5 Staring at Him blankly, Ho-yun asked, “Where are You going without taking me along?”
- 6 “You cannot come with Me,” Sahng-jeh-nim said, shaking His head. “Though I am sitting here at this moment, I will travel one thousand, ten thousand lee―just like the clouds.
- 7 You may think, as you look at the sky, that you can poke it with a stick; but it is more thousands of lee away than you can imagine.
- 8 It is not right for Me to bring you along when I go there, though leaving you here is a sin.”
- 9 He continued, “Let Me hold your hand.” He kissed the back of her hand and again sighed deeply. “Ho-yun, now go outside.”
- 10 “I should watch and see where You are going. Then, if You don’t come back, I can go after You.”
- 11 “You should not do that. From now on, you can ask Hyung-yul about everything. I will hear it from him.” He then sent her outside.
