• A Work of Renewal for Escorting
the Sacred Master and the Wise and Virtuous
  • One day, a disciple asked Tae-mo-nim, “How did heaven and earth originally come into being?”
  • She answered, “Heaven and earth came about by east, west, south, and north pressing inward.”
  • On another occasion, while in Jo-johng Village, Tae-mo-nim said, “Today, the work for the Ship of South Joseon comes in.”
  • She then said to Go Min-hwahn, “Write a song and bring it to Me.” When he did, She said, “Read it once.” He recited the song in a loud voice.
  • “Well done,” Tae-mo-nim said, then summoned dozens of disciples.
  • She appointed Gim Wun-myung and Jun Nae-un, both from Ik-sahn county, as the head oarsmen and had them lead in singing the song as a chantey. For several hours, all the disciples sang together.
  • Afterward, Tae-mo-nim said, “In any matter, there is always someone who receives enlightenment before others.
  • This work of rowing the Ship of South Joseon is the work of honorably escorting the sacred master and the wise and virtuous.” As a reward, She treated them to food and wine.
