- Hyung-yul Visits the Jade City
- 1 Since his days as an Eastern Learning adherent, Hyung-yul had always prayed, “I wish to have the honor of seeing the Lord of Heaven.”
- 2 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim handed him a pair of glasses and said, “Wear these and follow Me.”
- 3 Hyung-yul followed, and a magnificent three-story structure appeared. Looking at it carefully, he realized it was the legendary pavilion of the Jade City in heaven.
- 4 “Stay here,” Sahng-jeh-nim said and went to the upper floor.
- 5 There, male and female immortals and the officials of heaven’s court attended on Sahng-jeh-nim.
- 6 Sahng-jeh-nim sat on a throne and commanded, “Bring Wei Zheng to Me.”
- 7 He scolded Wei Zheng, “Why were you of two minds, serving Emperor Taizong during the day and Ohk-hwahng Sahng-jeh at night?” Wei Zheng apologized remorsefully.
- Recognizing the Teacher as the Lord of Heaven
- 8 After witnessing this, Hyung-yul said to the other disciples, “Our Teacher is the Lord of Heaven Himself.”
- 9 Later, when the other disciples witnessed Jeung-san command thunder, lightning, clouds, and wind during works of renewal, they realized He was God.
- 10 They no longer doubted that He was the Lord of Heaven in a human body.
