- 1 Sahng-jeh-nim and Gim Ik-chahn were once walking along Seh Stream in Jeonju County, when they saw a Japanese hunter aiming his gun at a flock of wild geese.
- 2 “A person of virtue does not have the heart to stand by and watch this,” said Sahng-jeh-nim. He stamped His left foot once and kept it firmly on the ground. The hunter’s gun did not go off.
- 3 The hunter checked his gun, but could find nothing wrong. Meanwhile, the geese flew away.
- 4 Only when Sahng-jeh-nim lifted His foot did the gun fire.
