- Everyone Receives Qi from Heaven and Earth
- 1 One day, Sahng-jeh-nim wrote something, gave it to Gyung-suk, and said, “Pray that yin and yang will no longer be restrained.” Sahng-jeh-nim took the writing back and burned it.
- 2 He then wrote something else and burned that as well. On the second paper He had written:
- 人生世間何滋味 曰衣曰食 衣食然後 曰色也
- 3 What are the pleasures of life? They are said to be clothing and food. Next to clothing and food, there is the pleasure of yin and yang.
- 故 至於衣食色之道 各受天地之氣也
- 4 Hence, with regard to clothing, food, and sex, everyone receives qi from heaven and earth.
- 惑世誣民者 欺人取物者 亦受天地之氣也
- 5 Even those who bring disorder to the world by deceiving people and those who cheat people of their money receive qi from heaven and earth.
