• A Rain Spirit Accompanies Gim Gahp-chil
  • In May 1904, while Sahng-jeh-nim was staying in Bahm-jae Village, Gim Gahp-chil came from Gu-rit-gohl Village to see Him.
  • Sahng-jeh-nim asked, “How is farming these days?”
  • Gahp-chil answered, “This terrible dry spell prevents us from transplanting the rice seedlings. All the farmers are deeply worried.”
  • “You have come to ask for rain. I will have a rain spirit accompany you. Return immediately. On your way back, you will get caught in a downpour.
  • Because you will be on a mission in the work of renewing heaven and earth, do not seek shelter.”
  • Gahp-chil was reluctant to go back so soon, because his feet were extremely sore, but Sahng-jeh-nim hurried him. “In saving people, how can you delay even for a minute?”
  • Gahp-chil obediently left for Gu-rit-gohl Village. When he arrived at Wun-pyung Village, it started to pour, and soon, the brook there was overflowing.
  • With plenty of water, the farmers finished transplanting the rice on time.
