- Granting Sight to the Blind
- 1 One day, in Dae-heung Village, Sahng-jeh-nim suddenly started groaning. This continued for hours. He finally said, “What sin has made Me blind?”
- 2 The disciples looked at His eyes and found that they were covered with a white crust that blinded Him.
- 3 Alarmed and confused, they did not know what to do. Meanwhile, Sahng-jeh-nim continued to suffer.
- 4 Tears streaming from His eyes, He again said, “I have committed no sin, yet I have been blinded.”
- 5 When a disciple near Him tried to touch His eyes, Sahng-jeh-nim chastised him in a loud voice, “How dare you try to put your hands on Me!”
- 6 Hours later, Sahng-jeh-nim removed the thick crust from His eyes. The sound of it coming off frightened the disciples.
- 7 He said to them, “Being in this heaven and earth, how can I bear it if there is a single person who cannot see the sun and moon?
- 8 In the coming new world, there will be no one without sight.”
