• Know the Meaning of Each Mantra
  • Tae-mo-nim said to Go Min-hwahn, “One needs to understand the basic meaning of each mantra for its power to work properly. Contemplate each mantra and then tell Me what you think it means.”
  • Min-hwahn wrote the result of his contemplation and presented it to Tae-mo-nim. “Well done,” She said. “Explain this to the others so that they may also understand.” Min-hwahn had written:
  • The Tae-eul Mantra (太乙呪) calms the mind, spirit, heavenly soul, and earthly soul. It allows communication with sacred spirit, enables us to master the way of spirits, and saves human life.
  • The Shee-chun-ju Mantra (侍天主呪) is the fundamental mantra of the Great Dao of Mu-geuk. With this mantra, one can receive heavenly mandates. Through it, one reveres and serves Sahng-jeh-nim as highly as though He were one’s own parent.
  • Through the Jin-aek Mantra (津液呪), people around the world can receive longevity and everlasting blessings and wealth from heaven and earth.
  • The Gwahn-sung Mantra (關聖呪) brings peace by removing wickedness and expelling all kinds of demons.
  • The Chil-sung-gyung Mantra (七星經) brings blessings and defeats misfortune. It allows one to have a healthy body and eternal life.
  • The Jee-shin Mantra (地神呪) soothes the spirits that guard houses and buildings.
  • 10 “The Classical Text of The Great Learning (大學右經章)” is an essential guide in governing the nation, taking care of one’s family, and cultivating one’s body, mind, will, and wisdom.
  • 11 The “Preface to Shuzhuan” is a good text for cultivating the mind to govern in harmony with dao.
  • 12 The “Preface to I Ching” helps us to unite ourselves with the virtue of heaven and earth, the sun and moon, yin and yang, the four seasons, and spirits. Having done this, we can see whether a situation is auspicious or inauspicious and make a decision about the future.
