• Tae-mo-nim’s Procession Through a Police Checkpoint
  • On Her way to Sohng-sahn Village, Tae-mo-nim ate lunch at a restaurant in front of Bu-yohng Train Station. When She was about to resume Her journey, She said to Her followers, “Braid My hair.”
  • When female followers braided Her hair and tied it with a red ribbon, She looked like an old spinster. She led Her followers to a checkpoint where Japanese policemen held rigid inspections.
  • Approaching the checkpoint, Tae-mo-nim staggered left and right, waved Her long pipe, and chanted loudly, “Shee-chun-ju Jo-hwa-jung Yung-seh-bool-mahng Mahn-sa-jee.”
  • Rather than stopping Her, the policemen just stood there pointing, laughing, and calling Her crazy.
  • She chanted louder and told Her followers to repeat the verse, “Shin-chun-jee Ga-ga-jahng-seh Il-wul-il-wul Mahn-sa-jee.”
  • Considering them a procession of idiots, the Japanese police did not inspect or question them. “What a pathetic group, following a crazed woman like that,” the police murmured and allowed them to pass.
  • When they reached Hwahng-sahn Village, Tae-mo-nim said, “Bring Me a sedan chair.” Getting inside, She ordered, “Quickly, let us go.” They headed for Sohng-sahn Village.
  • In mid-October, Gahng Eung-chil, Gahng Sa-sung, Gahng Wun-sup, and other believers from the Gahng family of Jo-johng Village came to Johng-suh’s house.
  • After about a month, they temporarily moved Tae-mo-nim to a small house near the planned site of the new center in Jo-johng Village, and later they brought Her to stay with Gahng Eung-chil in the same village.
  • 10 Jo-johng Village was inhabited primarily by Gahngs, and among them five or six were followers.
