• Bahk Gohng-ooh
  • Bahk Gohng-ooh, a strong man of large stature with a stalwart sense of justice,
  • was once well-known as a vigilante in Jung-eup, Go-chahng, and Heung-duk counties.
  • Later, as a Christian missionary, he converted dozens of people. Eventually, he left Christianity and became a follower of Eastern Learning. Applying himself to the search for truth, he delayed getting married.
  • He was thirty-two when Gyung-suk led Sahng-jeh-nim to his home. Gohng-ooh, at the time, was immersed in a forty-nine-day period of meditation and prayer.
  • The Lord of Heaven Incarnate
  • That night, Gohng-ooh burned incense to keep mosquitoes away.
  • He said to Sahng-jeh-nim, “Teacher, I think it is nothing short of a miracle that I have met You in the midst of my forty-nine days of prayer.”
  • Sahng-jeh-nim said to Gyung-suk and Gohng-ooh, “Now that I have met the people I was destined to meet, it is time for the spirit of perfect communion to come forth.
  • Whether they are My parent, sibling, child, or wife, no one can understand My work. I have traveled the world starting from the canopy tower in the nation of great law in the West.
  • An Eastern Learning mantra says, ‘Shee-chun-ju Jo-hwa-jung.’ It speaks of My work.
  • 10 To correct the disorder in the human world and heaven, I will renew heaven and earth and establish the Government of Creative Change.
  • 11 I traveled throughout the three realms and finally came to your Eastern land because I wanted to first save its people, who have suffered so much. I wanted to dissolve their bitterness and grief, which had accumulated throughout the ages.
  • 12 Those who follow Me will gain eternal happiness and will live in the world of immortality. This is the true Eastern Learning.”
