- A Leader’s Transgression
- 1 “When a leader knowingly transgresses, thereby going against the way of heaven, the punishment is more severe.”
- Do Your Own Work
- 2 Sahng-jeh-nim said, “People should do their own work.”
- 3 He once sent a disciple to buy something, but instead of carrying out the order, the disciple gave the task to someone else.
- 4 Sahng-jeh-nim said, “The one who did the work will be repaid for his effort.”
- Being Dependent on Others
- 5 “In the Early Heaven, being dependent on others has led people to ruin. You should not even lean on the walls of your own room.
- 6 Do not wish for the benevolence of others. If you receive many favors, you will be indebted and kept from acting freely.
- 7 The beast called failure is one-legged. Two of them must lean on each other to walk. When you depend on someone, you are bound to fail.”
- (JSD Dojeon 8,16)
