• Tae-mo-nim Saves Gim Su-nahm from a Great Earthquake
  • On July 20, 1923, a female disciple named Jun Dae-yoon and her son Gim Su-eung came to pay their respects.
  • Tae-mo-nim asked Su-eung, “Where is your younger brother, Gim Su-nahm, right now?”
“There has been no news from him since he went to Japan five years ago.”
  • Tae-mo-nim called for some food and wine. While having the food and wine, She suddenly stepped onto the wooden floor outside the room. Facing east, She loudly called out “Su-nahm!” three times.
  • In the autumn of 1919, Su-nahm had gone to Tokyo to work in a bank. After marrying a Japanese woman and becoming wealthy, he lost interest in writing letters to his family and in returning to Korea. To his surprise, however, a desire to return to his homeland began to grow and intensify.
  • Saying that his mother was dangerously ill, Su-nahm managed to get a two-week leave of absence. That same day, he left Tokyo by train at 6: pm and the following evening arrived at Shimonoseki Station.
  • At the time of his arrival, there was a devastating earthquake in Tokyo.
  • After arriving in Korea and speaking with his mother and brother, he realized that the sudden desire to return home had occurred in his mind exactly at the time when Tae-mo-nim had called out his name.
